Merganetta is a short film project and an audiovisual investigation about a family of Torrente Ducks in the Colombian Andes. The etymological root of the genus Merganetta, which includes the torrent duck, comes from the Latin “mergus”, meaning diver, and the Greek “netta”, meaning duck, thus referring to a “diving duck“.

This is part of the short documentary, now in the post-production stage, a collective product of the Salvando Primates Audiovisual Laboratory made in November 2023. I made this sequence as part of the first cut presented of the short documentary.
